Contra-Tiempo, an urban Latin dance theatre company from Los Angeles, fuses Salsa, Afro-Cuban, contemporary urban and abstract dance theater, to create an invigorating blend of physically intense and politically astute performances. Contra-Tiempo brings to life voices that are not traditionally heard on the concert stage. "Agua Furiosa" is a powerful, contemporary piece about immigration and water, based on Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” that challenges audiences to think about and discuss the issues of poverty, race and immigration.
